1. Set S.M.A.R.T. goals ✅
Setting goals is not as cut and dry as many of you may think. Many people set goals in the new year, but how many follow through with them or end up actually achieving them. The “SMART” goal setting method is a great guide to setting achievable goals that won’t overwhelm you this year.
2. Write down your goals and keep them visible each day. 📝
Studies have shown that those who write down their goals are 42% more likely to achieve them than those who don’t write them down. Write these goals down somewhere you can review daily, this reminds us to act with intention towards them each day.
3. Find an exercise program that feels good for YOU. 💡
These cookiecutter plans aren’t for everyone. Finding a plan that works for you can be difficult but it is crucial to your success. If you don’t enjoy your workouts you are less likely to be consistent and less likely to reach our fitness goals. If you can’t find a workout program that works for you, hire someone who can create one specifically tailored to your needs.
4. Schedule your workouts. 📅
If you are serious about your fitness goals this year, you should treat your workouts like any other important event in your life. Set aside time each day in your schedule to move or workout. Once it is written in your schedule this is non-negotiable.
5. Eat to fuel your goals. 🍽️
You wouldn’t put regular fuel in your race car would you?? No, you would use premium fuel because you want the car to perform at it’s very best. The same goes for food in our bodies. You want to get the most out of the time and effort you’re putting into the gym right?? If the answer is YES, you need to feed yourself to fuel these workouts AND eat to promote recovery after your workouts!!
